How to Make Your Dates Less Awkward

30 Apr

Great advice from this blogger, now go out and date like a social butterfly!

Miss Four Eyes

Dating is difficult stuff. The whole night is about trying to make someone who is practically a stranger like you. It’s a lot of pressure! Let’s face it, first dates can get pretty awkward. Sometimes they get so awkward that you actually have a map to cross out the places you can never ever visit again with the fear that you might bump into that person and *gasp* have to make eye contact or something.

Don’t you worry, we’ve all been there. Here is a quick guide to help you make your dates a little less awkward:

1. The Awkward Silence: it’s your first date and both of you are pretty nervous. Neither of you is sure what to say so you just sort of sit there as the awkward silence stretches from seconds to minutes to what feels like eons.

Trying to save the moment by staring into each…

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell : A book review

21 Apr

Book review time!

This book will catch your attention so fast you will have not time to say goodbye to your life or friends, because you probably will find it too difficult to put it down. But do not panic (your friends will understand) this book does not take long to finish (I took three days to finish it. One day to get into it, the second to read the bulk of the book and the third to finish it) So you will be back to your friends/ life. Unless your life is reading books in which case read on.

Main reason I like this book I sympathized with the main character (Cath). She is also an introverted nerd except that I only belong to fandoms and she writes fanfic.

I never really got into fanfic or writing it by that matter, I was just happy being in different worlds in my head rather than writing out my feelings for the worlds and character I loved so much. I have been exposed to fangirls and fanfic through tumblr which I have to say is an intense to be a fangirl.

The book made me feel all of Cath’s anxieties, happiness, and worries. The book takes place in a college of Nebraska, and well college is not entirely a place for an introvert. The people! should I say more?

Another reason I absolutely love this book was because the author used the word Guffaw in a non-pretensious way, which can be difficult for this AP English vocab word.

So read this book look into the mind of an introverted fangirl and have your heart broken when the story takes a romantic turn.

It also make think that the internet is a great place for introverts because it allows for ideas and thought to be expressed without having to deal with human interaction because that is very important.

On that note this are my fandoms:

Doctor Who

Harry Potter

The series of unfortunate events

These fandoms got me through tough times and allowed be in different place when I wanted to get away from the world.

So please read this book, if you can you. I have not regretted reading it.

HIMYM finally and how it let me down

Ok so I have been watching this show for a long not since it started but you know once it became available on Netflix. What hooked me to this show was not really the main character but his friend, I actually dislike Ted (the main character or the dad). He is pretentious and the way he defines love and wears down girls ultimately promising them the chance to be ‘the one”. ( I have so much hatred for this character I could punch him)

Then the writers decided to against all that has happened in nine years put Robin and Ted together!

I am just disappointed with this universe and how it all turned out.

My next point of woe is that one of the best character developments that happened was Barneys he went from someone who had severe trust issues to having a baby (and while the mother was just mentioned as a number) he developed a very strong emotional connection; but you know what the writers did they never mention it again.

Barney (the coolest character in the series in my opinion, because well he is just an honest bastard to himself and his friends. While not so much to the girls that fall for his pick-up tricks which he himself knows won’t lead him to “the one”) and Robin (also a pretty cool character other than the fact that she dated Ted) Belong together. They were awesome together and that allowed Ted to stop obsessing over a girl who did not want to go out with Ted in the first place and ultimately never wanted the same things Ted wanted. While I believe that marriages do fall apart and there is not much you can do, the fact that they fall out of being friends is a complete bummer; not to mention that this had happened again and they had managed to get through this and remain friends.

The mother’s identity should have been found
